We are currently experiencing a severe skills crisis in the industry, and experienced chefs or front of house staff are hard to come by. If you have skills and would like to talk about available placement with some of Bristol’s best food businesses, please get in touch.

LOKI POKÉ – Prep Chef or Kitchen Manager – £10 – £11 an hour – Full-time, Permanent – LOKI POKÉ is looking for an energetic and flexible prep chef to join our fast-growing business We serve super fresh poké and Hawaiian-inspired street food across our 3 Bristol venues (Cargo, Wapping Wharf, Propyard Bristol and our HQ in St Philips). Our menu focuses on fresh ingredients, using east-asian flavours, pickles and punchy sauces. Soukitchen – Sous Chef – £26,000 a year – Full-time, Permanent – Soukitchen are looking for a talented, passionate and enthusiastic sous chef who is ready to join our Clifton team. The ideal candidate will come with fresh ideas, a real can-do attitude and a passion to deliver exceptional food every time. They will also be steady and reliable with the ability to work well under pressure, building strong, workable relationships with the FOH and kitchen team. Previous experience in managing supplier relationships, scheduling and an understanding of financial targets are necessary, in order to assist the head chef in ensuring the kitchen’s success. Papadeli – We are looking for an experienced full-time Pastry Chef at Papadeli. It will be to fulfil catering orders, making creative & original cakes, tray bakes and sweet items for the deli. We will need someone who is interested in all aspects of the kitchen, be super imaginative with ingredients and be flexible and happy to work in other sections of the kitchen when needed. So the job may have a 4 day pastry 1 day savoury split. This is a great opportunity to develop skills, work with high-quality ingredients, make everything from scratch and be creative. Would need to be happy as part of a friendly team and also an independent worker who’s good at thinking on your feet. This would be between 40 hours a week over a 5 day period and usually Monday to Friday but also very occasional evenings, weekends and events if and when needed.
