Freddy Bird

Freddy Bird was born and bred in Bristol. He trained at Ballymaloe before starting his career in London; first working at 2 Michelin star restaurant The Square with Philip Howard and then at Moro with Sam & Sam Clark. 

Freddy returned to the West to launch the restaurant at the Lido Bristol which opened in 2008 and was named a regional finalist in the 2016 Observer Food Monthly Awards. He then successfully launched the Thames Lido restaurant in Reading in 2018. 

In 2017, Freddy appeared with Michel Roux Jr on the television show Hidden Restaurants, as a co-presenter. Freddy has also made multiple appearances on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, Ch4’s Sunday Brunch and the Hairy Bikers Comfort Food series.
