Andy Clarke

Wine expert and event host Andy Clarke was born in Bristol to a food-loving family. His background is in food, drink and travel TV production. His credits include developing and producing ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ (BBC1), series producing Both James Martin’s French & American Adventures and being responsible for all food and drink on ‘Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip’ (ITV).

As well as TV producing, he does a lot of work in the food and wine industry. While working with James Martin, he recommended all the wine and drink pairings to go with the food on the first series of ‘James Martin’s Saturday Morning’ (ITV). Andy also recommended all wines on ‘Word to the Mothers’, a series written and hosted by Mum-Blogger Zeena Moolla for Made TV. Andy is a member of the Guild of Food Writers and writes about food and drink for many publications including a regular column in Crumbs magazine. Andy has also written for The Telegraph. His food and drink website contains recipes and drink recommendations too.

Andy regularly judges for Great Taste Awards, The British and World Cheese Awards and The British Pie Awards amongst many others and his love of wine has led to his judging for the Independent English Wine Awards. Andy has hosted many events including The Bristol Good Food Awards at Ashton Gate Stadium, along with fellow food writer Genevieve Taylor, and hosts food and wine matching dinners and seminars around London and in the West Country in conjunction with well-known chefs. Andy has hosted wine and drinks events with the likes of Fiona Beckett and Melissa Cole amongst others. This year Andy is also happy to be working with Tom Kerridge at his Pub in the Park events as well as hosting the ‘Great British Food Stage’ at The Royal Bath & West Show. On top of that, Andy has an occasional slot on BBC Radio Bristol where he talks about all things food and drink orientated.

During Coronavirus lockdown Andy has developed his online presence by co-hosting cooking and drink matching sessions on social media for clients including wine brands such as Domaines Ott of Provence with a number of successful cooks and chefs including chefs Freddy Bird and Jan Ostle. For English Wine Week, Andy is pleased to announce that he will be hosting a tasting on Instagram Live with Fiona Beckett.
