Ah-Ma’s was founded by Anita Cheung. Settling firmly between her Cantonese upbringing and multicultural British home, Anita wanted to steer away from the Cantonese food that is peppered with msg and artificial colourings to bring to the masses the kind of cooking she experienced at home, incorporating the delicate balancing of fresh and light with punchy and flavourful. Typical in home-cooked Cantonese cuisine is the strong emphasis on the nourishing qualities of ingredients. This is a knowledge passed down by generations of home cooks and has a basis in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This basis also means we use minimum free-range, organic where possible, quality produce. Here, food really is medicine!
We currently have an online store where you can purchase our full range of dumpling flavours available in frozen packs, as well as freshly made bao buns that will keep in your fridge or can be frozen for later.
We are doing two local delivery runs per week on Tuesday and Saturday, so please place your orders by 1pm the day before for next day delivery. We’re also doing monthly delivery runs further afield, please check our website for more details.
We’ve also been doing regular deliveries to hospitals and surgeries so if you’re in a position to do so, please consider paying it forward by purchasing a meal for an nhs staff member, or perhaps buying an Ah-Ma’s gift voucher for friends and family to redeem anytime in the future.
